I Lost 45 Pounds and
Dramatically Improved My Health


“Hi, I’m Terry Gargus and thanks to Slender For Life™ I lost 45 pounds and I’ve dramatically improved my health. I’d been overweight for more than 20 years. In January 2011, at the age of 62, my LDL cholesterol was 140 and my doctor wanted me to be below 129. I had heart palpitations and my joints and back ached from the extra weight.

In March, 2011, I started with Slender For Life™ and by the end of May I had lost 38 pounds and my LDL was down to 104 and my blood pressure is now within a healthy range. My doctors are thrilled – and so am I! I no longer have to take cholesterol medication and my pant size went from 48” to 34”. Now, I have a lot more energy and I feel great.

How did I do it? Thanks to Slender For Life™ I learned about plant-based eating, exercise and hypnosis. I am a combat vet with post-traumatic stress and thanks to self-hypnosis I am able to manage my stress and I no longer need to eat junk food to deal with emotions.

I had tried the crash diets. I’d last about a week and then I’d binge, eating everything in sight and a lot of fast food. I’d lose 5 pounds and then gain 6. The other diets promised permanent results with minimal change. If you want permanent results, you’ve got to make permanent changes.

Now, thanks to Slender For Life™, I am enjoying eating real food and I have discovered how much better plant-food tastes. I can taste the different flavors since they aren’t hidden by fat. Our grocery savings is significant. That alone has more than paid for my weight loss sessions.

I don’t reach for junk food anymore. When I am hungry, I reach for healthy choices. I was eating from the middle of the grocery store but Slender For Life™ taught me to eat from the outer edges. My grocer didn’t stop selling the processed food I used to eat, but with hypnosis, I no longer have any desire to eat it.

My wife loves eating this way and her health has improved too. My 17 year-old athletic son no longer wants junk food and is applying the self-hypnosis that I have learned for school and for Lacrosse.

Before Slender For Life™ I would have been afraid to set a goal for the results I have achieved. I just didn’t believe it was possible. My health was getting worse and I was considering bariatric surgery. I’m a contractor and I spend my days up and down ladders. My knees were awful and there were so many activities I couldn’t do. Now I can be active with my teenage son and I am setting new goals for writing my own book, watching my grandkids grow up and for celebrating my 100th birthday! Previously, I didn’t think that these dreams would be options for me. I would pay $10,000.00 for the results that I have received and yet my Slender For Life™ fees were nominal.

Hypnosis has generalized to other areas of my life. I am a more efficient worker, more efficient financially, and I am more organized. I use self-hypnosis for exercise, to visualize things happening in my work and I use it for pain control.

You know, it’s abnormal to be at a healthy weight. If normal is to be fat – I don’t want any part of it! I weigh now what I did in high school. My 17 year old son now borrows my jeans. I want to be abnormal for the rest of my life! My friends are impressed with my weight loss and I want them to achieve these same health results.
