A Portrait of Forgiveness
A Portrait of Forgiveness is a post by my friend, Claudia Black, PhD, MSW. I was blessed to have lunch with Claudia last Monday in Palm Springs. We met about 20 years ago on Bainbridge Island. It was so good to see her and catch up.
Forgiveness is a topic that I often talk about with people as part of my Greatest Expression of You process andI was planning on a new post for today on forgiveness. But, then I read Claudia’s post and realized that she has said it all and for now, I have nothing more to add.
It’s the holidays and many of us will be with families. I invite you to read A Portrait of Forgiveness now and keep it in mind as we celebrate these holidays. Remember, “Forgiveness begins with you, not the other person. And you are the beneficiary of it—you no longer have to hold on to your pain and many defenses.”

A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood
It only takes one person to inspire a world of kindness.
Tom Hanks portrays Mister Rogers in A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, a timely story of kindness triumphing over cynicism, based on the true story of a real-life friendship between Fred Rogers and journalist Tom Junod. After a jaded magazine writer (Emmy winner Matthew Rhys) is assigned a profile of Fred Rogers, he overcomes his skepticism, learning about empathy, kindness, and decency from America’s most beloved neighbor.
