I am leaving for an active vacation this weekend – and I am excited! One of the things that has been on my bucket list has been to go canoeing in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA) of northern Minnesota. My youngest son (age 31) goes there several times a year and this year he invited me to go with him.
When I weighed 110 pounds more than I do now, I never would have dreamt of the adventures that I have today. I was too fat and had too many health issues. Thanks to hypnosis for weight loss, plant based eating and exercise, I am ready to do most any physical activity that I choose.
I fly to Minneapolis on June 30 and will spend the night in Minnetonka with my son and his wife. Josh and I will leave at about 5:00 AM Monday morning for the BWCA and hopefully have our canoe in the water by noon. We will spend 5 days canoeing. portaging and camping. I’m hoping for a Northern Lights show for the 4th of July. We will return to Minnetonka Friday night and I fly back to Seattle on Saturday.
I plan to get in a couple of good bike rides on Sunday and Monday (July 7 & 8) and then take the rest of the week easy. Saturday July 13, along with 4 team mates from Arms Around Bainbridge Cycling (AAB Cycling) and 10,000 other cyclists, we will ride the Group Health STP (Seattle to Portland) bike ride – all 204 miles in 1 day. We plan on crossing the start line when it opens at 4:45 AM and hopefully be in the beer garden in Portland by 8:00 PM.
I have said on many occasions that I have a liberty of choice in my life that I did not have 17 years ago. Back then I couldn’t get on a bike, let alone ride on for 14 hours. 17 years ago I couldn’t have run hike the High Divide, climbed Mount Rainier or ran marathons. These activities were not options for me. Today, I can choose. I love the freedom of know that I can on a whim get on my bike and ride 100 miles and not have to train for it. Using self hypnosis throughout each day gives me this freedom.
You don’t have to be as extreme as I am. Maybe your vacation is taking your grandchildren to Disneyland. Maybe its walking through art museums, maybe you are snorkeling off of Maui or dancing the night away in your favorite dance hall. What’s important is that you get up and move. Imagine – what would you do with an active and energetic lifestyle? Would it be worth learning and using hypnosis for weight loss?
