Hooray for The Alliance For A Healthier Generation for waging war on childhood obesity. The initiative combines healthy food and exercise at school. This is an exciting and important project for our future. American children are growing up fat and sick unnecessarily. Childhood obesity is preventable and as I have repeatedly said, the way our kids are eating today is criminal. Or, as John McDougall says, “The pain and suffering inflicted on children by the American diet is so brutal that if it were administered with a stick, parents would be put in jail.“ Folks, we can change this. I don’t have school aged children anymore, and soon I will only have 2 grandchildren left in school. But, this is our future. We cannot continue to have this generations life expectancy shorter than ours. We can and we must fix this. I am excited for the parents who are calling my Seattle weight loss and Bainbridge Island weight loss offices and to seek weight loss help for their family. Childhood obesity is a family affair. I love it when the chairs in my office fill up with Mom, Dad and the kids. Your family can easily learn hypnosis for weight loss. You owe it to your children, grandchildren and to America.
The Alliance For A Healthier Generation
Over the past 20 years, childhood obesity rates have doubled and are now at epidemic rates. Overweight children and teens are more likely to develop serious health problems such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, heart disease and type 2 diabetes. If current trends continue, today’s kids could be the first generation to live shorter lives than their parents.
Parents and guardians are key decision-makers when it comes to the nutrition, physical activity and health needs of their child. Each day, you can take advantage of the healthy choices around you and do little things that can affect your child’s health in a big way.
The Healthy Schools Program recognizes schools that create healthier school environments that promote physical activity and healthy eating among students and staff. The Healthy Schools Program Framework of Criteria identifies specific best practices to create healthier school environments. The criteria are based on the best available evidence of programs, policies and practices that positively impact healthy eating and physical activity behaviors among students and staff. The criteria are reviewed and revised annually by the American Heart Association and the Healthy Schools Program Expert Panel.

I love it when I learn of exciting projects like the Alliance For A Healthier Generation. We have abused our kids with junk food far too long. I truly believe that we can get healthy food into the schools, vending machines, fast food restaurants and the local gas mart. I believe that we can get the processed foods off our store shelves. How? By voting with our wallets. Stop buying the crap food that makes us fat and sick. Our children and our nation deserve to be healthy. We cannot afford to continue the food abuse to ourselves and our children.
