How do I do self-hypnosis?
This week’s Ask Roger question comes from Jess in South Carolina.
“You’ve mentioned self-hypnosis and I read something about a light switch. I don’t understand how to do self-hypnosis. Can you tell me or should I schedule an online session with you?
Thanks,
Jess”
Thanks Jess for the question. This one is near and dear to me. If you look up in the menu bar here at Hypnosis Health Info you will see the words “Hypnosis Demystified.” When you move your cursor to that word, there is a dropdown menu and you see “Self-hypnosis.” Highlight that and you will see a slider menu with the words “Light Switch, How to.” Click on that and it will take you to written, oral and video instruction on how to do the Light Switch Self-hypnosis.
It’s called Light Switch Self-hypnosis because you use your finger or some other physical cue to your body that it’s time to shut off or shut down for a moment.

Self-hypnosis benefits
There are so many benefits to self-hypnosis – even if you only use it for one minute at a time. I often refer to self-hypnosis as course correction. My wife and I just flew round trip from Seattle to Colorado Springs. I know that throughout the entire flight, the pilot or autopilot continually made course corrections.
It’s like when you drive down the road and you constantly adjust to stay within the lines. Had there not been these course corrections on our flight, who knows where we might have landed? It surely wouldn’t have been in Colorado Springs!
Self-hypnosis is a perfect way for you to stay focused and on track for your purpose and goals in life. When you use the Light Switch Self-hypnosis you shut off the outside influences and distractions and you turn on relaxation.
