End of Life training
This is an email about End of Life training that I received from Pam in Bellingham, WA.
“I’m really interested in the End of Life training that you are offering in April. I want to attend but I am not sure if I should attend only Friday night, only Saturday and Sunday or if I should attend Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
I am a hospice volunteer and I volunteer with seniors through my church. I feel called to work with people who are dying.
I’d like to become certified, but I don’t have a college degree or other formal training. Can I participate in the certification program?”
This is what I wrote back to Pam:
“Thanks for asking Pam and thank you for your interest in the Doulagivers End of Life training.
Yes – you can attend the entire Certification training and become certified. You do not need a degree to attend this training and to be great as a doulagiver.
For the Certification, you will need to attend Friday night and all day Saturday and Sunday.
Friday night is open to the public who pre- register. Family members, friends and people who are at the end of life as well as people who are interested in learning more about end-of-life care are welcome.
This Doulagivers End of Life training will be held Friday, April 20 from 6:00 – 9:00 PM and 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Saturday & Sunday at the Erickson Theater at Seattle Central College. You can also attend world-wide live online or at a later time via streaming video recording.
I encourage you to register soon before the price increase.
For details and registration
Feel free to call or email me with any other questions. I look forward to seeing you on April 20.”
