I’m convinced that part of the human experience is that we learn new behaviors and achieve a level of success that we are comfortable with and then we stop those successful behaviors.
It’s the upper limit that I previously mentioned. I just heard from a woman who stopped using self-hypnosis and the Greatest Expression of You process and sure enough, she gained weight.
Thankfully, she quickly caught on and went back to using these tools and is now back to her goal weight.
Sometimes a client will tell me that using the Greatest Expression of You process and using self-hypnosis several times a day every day is just too much.
People tell me that they are too busy or that they don’t like routine or some other reason why these behaviors of excellence won’t work for them. Oh – and another reason is that taking time out for five one-minute self-hypnosis sessions is just too much!
When questioned, these same individuals will often acknowledge that having no routine leads to chaos. They are physically unhealthy, mentally exhausted and are an emotional wreck. As a result, they waste a great deal of time and energy and their goals and dreams slip away.
“We are what we repeatedly do.
Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” ~ Aristotle
Excellence is achieved when successful behaviors become habits. When self-hypnosis and the Greatest Expression of You process is just what you do – when it becomes as natural as brushing your teeth and that morning cup of coffee – then you achieve excellence.
The Greatest Expression of You is an investment in yourself. It gives you the vision, structure and drive to successfully and joyfully get you through the day. It helps you make sense of your reality.
When you are being your Best Self, you have more physical, mental and emotional energy. You get more done in less time and with less energy.
When you start your day by reading the Greatest Expression of You and by memorizing Joy, you are being proactive. You are setting your intention for your beingness for the day.
Practice makes perfect
The Mental Rehearsal is your mental preparation where you are visualizing success – it’s where you create excellence. When you consistently Mentally Rehearse being your best self, you become a better you.
I remember as a kid I hated to practice the piano. I wanted to play the piano but I didn’t want to practice. My result is that today I still want to play the piano but I sound terrible – I don’t have the skills.
Practice really does make perfect!
So if you want to create change in your life, make behaviors of excellence a habit!
