I’ve studied nutrition for more than 22 years now and there are a number of factors that keep me convinced that a whole-food plant-based lifestyle is the healthiest way to live. Throughout history, the healthiest civilizations primarily lived on root vegetables, grains and fruit.
In countries like Taiwan, (prior to McDonald’s & Pizza Hut), had the highest number of centenarians and diseases like cancer, diabetes, autoimmune disease and heart disease were unheard of.
Over the years, clients have repeatedly told me that they feel some much better, have so much more energy and are reducing or eliminating prescription medications because they are now eating plant-based food.
My own experience is that I lost 120 pounds, I’ve kept it off and I no longer have high blood pressure and I am not longer diabetic.

Vegan Diet Causes More Than 500 Genes to Change in 3 Months
Our progress in understanding human genes has been an incredible one at that. While we don’t have that many genes (about 25,000 in each cell, compared to tiny water fleas who have over 30,000!), scientists have recently discovered ways to control the very small amount we do have. Scientists call it epigenetics – how changes in gene activity can occur without changing our actual DNA.
One way we can influence our genes without changing their basic structure is through the foods we eat.
