Weight loss hypnosis clients frequently ask me about using coconut oil for weight loss. The marketers will tell you that, “this wonder oil benefits in skin care, hair care, weight loss, treating yeast infections, improving digestion and increasing immunity against a host of infections and diseases.”
Full disclosure here: I put a teaspoon of cold pressed coconut oil in my mouth each day and swish it around for about 20 minutes. I then spit it into the garbage. I do this at the recommendation of my dentist and she keeps saying she sees the results by the improvement in my mouth.
However, for weight loss, I stick with John McDougall, M.D. who has repeatedly said over the years, “The fat you eat is the fat you wear.”
On January 15, 2018, Dr. Michael Gregor wrote that there is “No benefit to coconut oil for obesity over placebo shown in any study to date.”
But, weight loss hypnosis is proven over and over to be powerfully effective for lasting weight loss. Not only do the scientific studies demonstrate weight loss success. I know it first hand.
About 25 years ago I lost 120 pounds and I have kept it off and for the past 21 years I have witnessed hundreds of people who have lost weight at Seattle Weight Loss Hypnosis with Roger Moore.

No benefit to coconut oil for obesity
Michael Greger, M.D.: “The only other placebo-controlled study of coconut oil and waistlines was published in 2017, and no significant changes in weight or waist or hip measurements, total fat, belly fat, nor butt fat. No benefit to coconut oil for obesity over placebo shown in any study to date.
So, how can coconut oil proponents get away with saying otherwise? Well, they like to talk about studies like this, showing that Pacific islanders who ate more traditional coconut-based diets were slimmer than those eating more modern diets with fewer coconut products. But, guess what they were eating instead? ‘The modern[ized] dietary pattern [was] primarily characterized by high intake[s] of sausage [and] eggs and processed foods.’”
