Milk does not build strong bones

I found another study, this one from Harvard that reinforces that humans have no nutritional requirement for milk. In fact, milk may be doing you more harm than good. Harvard’s research show that high intake of dairy products can increase the risk of prostate cancer and possibly ovarian cancer.

The Harvard experts also referred to the high levels of saturated fat in most dairy products and suggested that collards, bok choy, fortified soy milk, and baked beans are safer choices than dairy for obtaining calcium.

We’ve known for years that the Dairy Council’s own studies show dairy products actually remove calcium from your body. In fact, in the countries like the U.S. where milk and other dairy products have high consumption, there is also a higher rate of bone fractures. That’s right, milk does not build strong bones!

22 years ago I was a cheeseaholic that went through a brick a sharp cheddar within 3 or 4 days. And then there was the Häagen-Dazs. I would a whole pint at once – or dump the whole container into the blender with milk, malt, hot fudge and marshmallow and make a thick malt – and drink it all.

In those days I weighed 260 pounds. I was borderline diabetic and flirting with high blood pressure.

 

Life without dairy
