What did you dream of doing? is this weeks reading from Becoming Slender For Life. Actually, when I weighed 115 pounds more than I do now, I never allowed myself to dreaming of doing much that was physically active. I was too big, to slow, movement was too tiring and I hurt to much to move. There were no thoughts of running marathons, climbing Mount Rainier or riding my bike 204 miles from Seattle to Portland in one day. All of these events that I have now accomplished were unthinkable.
Thanks to hypnosis for weight loss and whole plant-based foods, I now at my healthy ideal weight and I love being active. I love it that I take off at a moments notice on a 100 mile bike ride or a 20 mile hike in the mountains. I love going for long walks with my granddaughters and being able to be active with them. Weight loss hypnosis can help you too. Start dreaming, get off the couch and be more active. Exercise can be fun and nurturing for your body.
What did you dream of doing?
Make a list of physical activities you enjoyed as a child or teen. Then add any physical goals you may have had but abandoned. Did you ever want to climb a big mountain or enter a triathlon? Learn to line dance? List any activities your kids do that you’d like to be able to do—try inline skating? Are there any sports you enjoy watching on TV? Add those to the list. Put a star by ones that seem especially fun. Now look at your list and see what you could do today to adopt or adapt some of them. Perhaps you just haven’t thought creatively enough about all the many ways you could find to move your body.
Some people have moved so little in their lives that they just can’t envision themselves doing anything. If you’re still stuck, talk to friends who are fit and ask them what they do to stay that way. Ask if you can go along with them on a hike or visit their gym or attend a water aerobics class with them. Maybe all you need is to model someone else’s activities. If you need variety, plan different activities for every day of the week. The real point is to just start somewhere—any activity is better than none!
