Are you eating processed meat?
Scientists from the University of Leeds’s Nutritional Epidemiology Group report that consuming a 25g serving of processed meat a day, the equivalent one slice of bacon, is associated with a 44% increased risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease.
This is not the first study associating processed meat to disease. Processed meat is associated with cancer, hypertension, heart disease, Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
