Let’s move on together

If you haven’t already voted, go vote now. And then, let’s all move on together. We all want change, so let’s focus on the areas that we agree on. We are all human and we have more in common than we do have in differences.

People talk about their upset, but few really get involved. You can start by offering an embrace to people who are disappointed in the election outcome. Listen to them. Acknowledge their upset and don’t tell them why you are right.

Begin by studying the important issues now. Be sure that your sources are reliable and double check the data they use. Volunteer for causes that are important to you.

The United States is great because it is a nation of laws. We peacefully transition from one president to the next. It is time now to stop all of the againstness.  Together we can be a force for positive changes.

Manage your election stress

If you find yourself spinning out with election stress, here are some tips of things you can do:

  • Turn off the TV and radio
  • Stop talking about it
  • Stay out of political conversations on social media
  • Walk away from upsetting conversations and don’t get caught in arguments. (At this point do you really think that you can change someone’s opinion?)
  • Go for a walk, bike ride, run, swim, yoga or some form of exercise
  • Use self-hypnosis
  • Use the stress reduction techniques I describe in this video
  • Listen to Orange Blossom
  • Get a massage
  • Listen to your favorite music and dance
  • Tell someone what’s great about them
