Energy drinks
Because of the high amounts of caffeine and sugar in energy drinks, dangerous arrhythmias can easily develop in the hearts of young people who drink them.
According to the NIH, 27% of all students use sports drinks. “Men between the ages of 18 and 34 years consume the most energy drinks, and almost one-third of teens between 12 and 17 years drink them regularly.”
Mayo clinic tells us that even just one 16-ounce energy drink can increase blood pressure and stress hormones and could put a healthy young adult at risk for heart damage.
In recent years, I’ve had several teens in my office struggling with anxiety, insomnia, headaches and other symptoms resulting from the consumption of sports drinks. Hypnosis has been very effective in creating a large amount of no desire for energy drinks and increasing the desire for water.
