Research doctors in Sweden found that impaired balance tripled the risk of hip fractures in older patients and doubled the risk of other fractures. The researchers  calculated that 37% of all hip fractures could be avoided if patients were steadier on their feet.

The good news is that you don’t have to join the circus and become a tightrope walker to benefit from better balance. Here is an easy exercise: Stand on one leg. Start by holding onto the back of a chair with one hand and balancing for a count of 15 before switching sides. Try not to wobble. The, when you think you’re ready for something a little more difficult, remove the chair and stand on one leg without using anything to steady yourself. Focus on centering your body. If you want an even bigger challenge, close your eyes while balancing.

Don’t think you can do it? Or, is it you just aren’t motivated to do it? Well, you can use hypnosis several times a day, every day to motivate yourself to give care to you and to your body. Watch Light Switch Self Hypnosis and find out how easy self hypnosis is.
