Seattle hypnosis and Bainbridge hypnosis clients know that it’s never too late to start to exercise. I’ve been writing and talking about this for a number of years and it is exciting to see new research that supports the theory that know matter how old you are, it’s not too late to begin to exercise. Do you hate to exercise? Do you make the intention to exercise and then use every excuse to keep it from happening? If you want, hypnosis for exercise can get you off the couch and improve your physical, mental and emotional health.
79% of Americans do not meet the government exercise guidelines of 2.5 hours a week of moderate-intensity aerobic activity. We also need muscle-building activities 2 or more times each week.
‘Late starters’ still have
much to gain by exercising
BBC News, November 25, 2013: Taking up exercise in your 60s will still help stave off major ill health and dementia. It is never to late to begin or to benefit. Those who took up exercise were three times more likely to remain healthy over the next eight years than their sedentary peers. Exercise cut the risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease and depression. People who took up exercise in their 60s were also less likely to struggle with day-to-day activities such as washing and dressing.
My Mom is a testament to “it’s never too late to exercise.” She’s now 91 and started exercising 2 years ago when she lived with us for several weeks. The exercises that she does helps her get in and out of her chair, on and off the toilet, in and out of bed, in and out of the car and gets her from one store to the next in the shopping mall.
