Fat Free Oil Spray? Seriously? The label says no calories, no fat, no nothing. Yet the reality is that all that is in a can of Pam is fat. If a serving size is less than a half of a gram the manufacturers can round down to zero. A serving size of Pam is a quarter gram or 1/3 of a second. Have you ever used Pam for only 1/3 of a second? I doubt it. According to the label, a 12 ounce can of Pam contains 1057 servings. In my Seattle weight loss hypnosis and Bainbridge Island weight loss hypnosis offices clients learn the importance of reading labels and methods of cooking that are truly free of added fats. My book, Becoming Slender For Life can help you eat plant strong and fat free.

Labeling Lies – Nonstick sprays
The labels are legal, but they lie. The labels say “no fat” and “zero calories.” Many people use nonstick sprays in cooking to reduce the amount fat and calories in their diets. What are they really getting? In this humorous talk, Jeff Novick MS RD exposes the labeling lies on nonstick sprays.
Reading and understanding labels is important if you use packaged and manufactured foods. The beauty of eating plant strong is that there are no ingredient labels. A banana is a banana! Nothing has been added.
I’ll be honest, we do use a little bit of Pam to spray the out door gas grill. And, when I use my old cast iron skillets, I take a paper towel and rub the tiniest amount of olive oil on it. But, beyond that, we try to not use added fats. I’ve discovered that onions brown beautifully and taste even better in a little bit of water. No need to ruin the onions with oil or butter. My book Becoming Slender For Life and its hypnosis CD set can support you with your weight loss and a lifetime of healthy eating.
