I just came across a Mayo Clinic article, Gastric Bypass Diet: What to Eat After Weight-Loss Surgery, that describes the life-long eating restrictions that people who have weight-loss surgery must endure. It tears my heart out to know that this surgery is being preformed and that so many obese people risk their lives for this weight-loss surgery.

One of my clients was just telling me that her sister had lap-band surgery and continues to eat high fat foods and has put on more weight since the surgery. Over the years I have had many clients who have had weight-loss surgery and I am currently working with six individuals who had the surgery, lost weight and came to me weighing more than they did prior to the weight-loss surgery.

Just yesterday I was told of a former client who I worked with for a few sessions. This woman was too busy and too stressed to make a commitment to her success – she was just too busy to plan, buy & prepare healthy meals and to busy to exercise. With only a few sessions, she disappeared and never completed her work with me. Looking for a quick fix, she had gastric bypass surgery, lost some weight and now weighs more than she did prior to the surgery. I am very saddened & frustrated by this. Now, not only does she have the health risks of obesity, she has life-long eating restrictions. Nothing has changed mentally or emotionally – she still over eats!

One current weight-loss surgery client tells how after having the surgery, she was still able to eat large quantities of ice cream and she lost very little weight after the surgery and came to me weighing more than she did at the time of her surgery. So now, she is Becoming Slender for Life by using self-hypnosis to make the mental and emotional changes that are required to lose weight and to keep it off.

If you are considering weight-loss surgery, you must remember that there are no quick or easy fixes. Losing weight is hard. it takes commitment, it takes time, energy and effort. Losing weight requires a lifestyle change. You cannot continue eating what you have been eating and not exercise and lose weight.

Using hypnosis, you can create changes in your thoughts and in your emotions. Self-hypnosis, you can end your over eating trances,, your stress trances, your emotional eating trances and take control of what you eat, how much you eat and your weight. Hypnotherapy can change your life!
