Laughter is cheap medicine

The healing power of laughter is an amazing remedy for stress and pain and a good laugh brings your mind and body back into balance. Laughter can help you feel better about yourself and the world around you.

In the Medical journals you’ll find that laughter therapy can help improve the quality of life for patients with chronic illnesses. The healing power of laughter for physical, mental and emotional health and wellness is so effective that many cancer centers and other medical facilities use laughter as physical exercise.

As early as the 13th century, surgeons used humor to distract patients from pain. Laughter is a natural medicine that lifts your spirits and makes you feel happy.

The feel-good feeling of laughter remains with you even after the laughter subsides. Research shows that a good, hearty laugh relieves physical tension and stress, leaving your muscles relaxed for up to 45 minutes.

Laughter is a source for hope. For years now I have tried to make sure that in every session with a client we get in a giggle or two and better yet a good laugh. I’ve told clients that laughter is the rainbow at the end of a storm. You can’t feel anxious, angry, or sad when you’re laughing!
