Dr. Kim A. Williams tells us that heart disease is preventable with a whole food plant-based lifestyle. It was one of his patients that first got him to pay attention to the evidence supporting plant-based foods. At the time, his LDL cholesterol was at 170. Six weeks later, eating whole grains, vegetables and fruit, he had lowered his LDL to 90.
Now, Dr. Williams often discusses the benefits of adopting a plant-based diet with his patients who have high cholesterol, diabetes, hypertension, or coronary artery disease.
