Holiday weight loss

Holiday weight loss is possible and when you plan ahead you make things easy for yourself. It’s a crazy busy time of year, that can also include a cacophony of emotions.

One of the ways that you can make holiday weight loss easy for yourself is planning ahead. In our freezer you will find frozen brown rice, frozen wholewheat tortillas and a variety of frozen vegetables. In the midst of a day full of errands yesterday, my lunch was the brown rice and vegetables mixed with salsa and about 1/2 cup of black refried beans all heated up in the microwave. I heated a tortilla and made an awesome burrito. It took less than 10 minutes to prepare – and some of that time was spent talking.

We made a big bowl of spaghetti squash at the beginning of the week and we each had 7 dinners from it. We cut up several days of vegetables at a time for our dinner salad which cuts way down on prep time each night.

Our cupboard has cans of split pea soup and other vegetable soups. These too are quick, easy and satisfying on these cold winter days.

I keep bananas in the pantry  and baggies of baby carrots in the fridge so that I can grab a healthy snack and run.

Eating healthy can be quick, easy,
delicious and satisfying
