Self hypnosis at Seattle hypnosis and Bainbridge Island hypnosis has moved into the age of smart phone apps. I personally use self hypnosis 8 to 12 times each day or more and I have found that my iPhone is an excellent assistant with my mindfulness pursuit. I know that it may seem counter-intuitive to mix modern tech with being more mindful, but it works for me. Smart Phone Apps is this weeks reading from my book, Becoming Slender For Life.


Smart Phone Apps

This is for all you smart phone users. On my iPhone I have a free app called RxmindMe. It is intended to be used to remind you to take your prescriptions. I don’t take any medications, but it sure works great for reminders to use your Light Switch Self hypnosis. I have it set up for 5 reminders per day; I call them Light Switch 1, Light Switch 2, etc.

The second app I use for the Light Switch is called Awesome Note. It’s a note pad with folders you can color coordinate with different titles. My folders are titled: Exercise, Health, Business, Personal and Relationships. In each folder I create notes that contain my hypnotic suggestions. I write only one suggestion per note. So if the one-minute self-hypnosis I want to do is about long-distance training on my bike, then I’ll select notes from the Exercise folder.

I didn’t think that I would ever give up my color coded index cards, but my iPhone has changed all that. I’m loving how easy this is to set up and to use. Give it a try.

However you choose to set yourself up for success to use self hypnosis is up to you. What is important is that you learn hypnosis and use it several times a day, everyday. Remember, we are always in trance and hypnosis is learning to take control of the trance you are in. With hypnosis you can move out of the negative trances that do not serve you into positive trances that support your success in life.
