I have found numerous studies supporting the idea of moderating unhealthy food intake rather than abstaining from unhealthy foods and moderation is certainly the popular dream of most dieters. I’m just not convinced that moderation is the best approach, or that it really does work. In fact, when I looked at my data over the past 10 years, I found that most of the people who took weight off and have kept it off, eliminated unhealthy foods rather than trying to moderate them. I also have observed that Slender For Life™ clients who remove unhealthy foods from their eating have an easier time achieving their goal weight than Slender For Life™ clients who try to moderate unhealthy foods.

I am a passionate person and I do things with gusto. I never ate a little bit of a cinnamon roll or a taste of Ben & Jerry’s, no, I ate 2 or more cinnamon rolls and the whole pint of Cherry Garcia. I never moderated anything!

Unhealthy foods are toxins … poison for the body. You would never feed yourself or your family a little bit of rat poison and think that it was OK.  NO, you abstain from poison! You wouldn’t consider moderation when it comes to poisoning your food.

So, my vote is stop fooling yourself into thinking that you can moderate the amount of unhealthy fats and sugars you eat. Eliminate them!
