I don’t know about you, but I am sure grateful to be able to use hypnotherapy in my daily life. Hypnosis, along with prayer and meditation, continues to be an important stabilizing factor in my life. I use the one minute Light Switch self-hypnosis technique multiple times each day to manage stress and to create the energy to do whatever is coming up next. If you don’t know about it, it is time for you to learn hypnosis.
This past month has had its fun and it’s challenges. A few weeks ago my 6 year old PC picked up a virus that gave me that horrible blue screen and then my motherboard chose to begin retirement and that continues to create an additional set of challenges. While that was going on Marilyn and I left on July 5, on a road trip to Colorado to visit my Mom. Our youngest son drove there from Minneapolis so it was a wonderful time with my Mom and Josh. To maximize our time with Mom and Josh we drove the 1400 miles each way in 2 days.
We had a great time in Colorado. We took my 88 year-old mom shopping for new drapes and new clothes. The next morning Josh & I hiked for 3 hours (about 6 miles) up the Barr Trail on Pikes Peak. We were half way when time forced us to turn around. (We are already planning on hiking the 12 mile trail to the summit of Pikes Peak next summer) That afternoon we drove down to Pueblo and Mom walked about 1/2 mile with her walker along the river walk and we laughed and giggled and enjoyed the sunshine. And Saturday we had brunch at Adam’s Mountain Cafe in Manitou Springs and then headed up to the Midnight Rose in cripple Creek where she gave $20.00 to a one arm bandit and then we all went out to dinner that night with my nephew and his friend.
Sunday morning had us back on the road going home. We drive 926 miles from Colorado Springs to Boise that day and then another 525 miles the next day to Bainbridge Island. We arrived home exhausted late Monday afternoon the 12th and I began a full week of clients on Tuesday. Along with that was cobbling my PC together to get by until I decide what I am going to do about a replacement.
I’m no techie and having to reinstall all my programs and data into the computer raises my anxiety level. It takes hours to get everything reinstalled and working again. Of course there are these daily blog posts. I just completed the new web site for Roger Moore’s Institute of Hypnotherapy and I am now starting on a new Slender For Life™ web site.
The house and yard had been neglected for 2 weeks and we had friends from Arizona over for dinner Saturday night which was sheer fun even with the preparatory work involved. The roof needs to be cleaned and I have rotten boards to replace on the deck and then I need to power wash and stain both decks.
Somehow each day I manage to squeeze in time for 20 mile bike rides or time at the gym. And, most importantly, time for Marilyn and I (and Luna our lab too). My life is very full and very abundant. Sometimes, it feels a little too abundant – that is where the hypnotherapy comes in. When I feel the tension in my shoulders I know that its past time for self-hypnosis. When I take at least a minute (more if I have the time) to use hypnosis I can move out of the fearful anxiety ridden place and create a place of relaxed energy focused on the task at hand and perhaps on what’s next so that I can deal with what life brings me. The Light Switch Self-hypnosis technique makes it easy.
If your life is feeling too abundant, if you are experiencing stress and anxiety, then learn hypnosis so that you can deal with what life brings you.
