Blended Dietary Household

If you’re like me, you’re living in a blended dietary household. I’m the first to admit that I do have it pretty easy as Marilyn (my wife) makes almost all our our meals and she is really good to me by making sure that the food that I eat is only plant-based whole food. I’m very blessed!

Marilyn does add cheese to some of her food and when we eat out she sometimes orders chicken or fish. Our kids and grandkids are a combination of a variety of eating strategies that include meat, eggs, fish and dairy. But we’ve found a way that works for us. There may be fish or meat on the grill along with a basket or two of vegetables and potatoes. Or there may be beef burgers and veggie burgers. In the winter we might make a pot of vegan chili and have a pot of brown rice and a skilled of ground beef. Some of us add brown rice to our bowl and pour the chili over the top while others use the beef.

Tacos is an easy favorite. All of the ingredients are ready to go on the counter and there is an assembly line where each one of us builds our own tacos.

We try to avoid having separate meals. For the most part, we all are eating the same meal with some individual differences.
