This is the beginning of Michael Gordon’s weight loss hypnosis journey with Slender For Life™. Michael is a new hypnosis for weight loss client living in the Twin Cities. Assessment Weight on October 6, 2009: 310 pounds
Goal Weight 205 – 210 pounds
Session 1 Weight on October 19, 2009: 308 pounds (Michael reported that his weight went up to 315 pounds in the first week following the assessment and dropped to 310 the second week)

“My goal in working with Roger Moore’s Slender For Life™ is to lose 100 pounds over the next year and 30 to 40 pounds over the next 4 months. I am a professional actor with a stage show beginning in four months, which is my external motivation. But my internal reasons for beginning my weight loss program are far more important: to be healthier, live longer, feel better about my body, and be more comfortable in my skin, my clothes, my career and with my friends and family.

I’m scheduled to begin my program in about a week. In preparing for the kickoff, my starter kit arrived this week from Slender For Life™. After looking through the kit, I read the first chapter of  Becoming Slender For Life.

Previously, I’ve been an unbeliever in hypnosis, mostly due to misconceptions and lack of information. Having read some of the book, now I am excited about beginning my program!

As a part of the Kit, I received Dr. John McDougall’s DVD set: Total Health Solution For the 21st Century. As instructed, I watched Chapter 2: The Five Dietary Myths, and learned about his program for a low-fat, starch-based diet. I found the material presented by Dr. McDougall made total sense to me. I was especially struck by the information about lactose intolerance. While I have never been tested for this allergy, my sense is this has been what’s causing my chronic sinusitis and inner ear problems. It will be most interesting to see if these symptoms clear up once I begin the program and withdraw from dairy-based products.

Although I’m not scheduled to begin my weight-loss opportunity until next week, my mind must have been working overtime this week to let my body know what’s about to happen:
