A new hypnosis for weight loss client emailed me last week that living a whole plant-based food lifestyle was just too big of a change. I was reminded of the old adage, “when nothing changes … nothing changes.” I am always curious as to what someone is thinking and feeling when they say they want to achieve their goal and yet want to continue old behaviors and expect different results. People who are truly committed to their goal are committed to change. You can’t achieve a goal weight of 130 pounds if you aren’t willing to do what it takes to move away from 150 pounds.
It’s been said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
Sometimes, the very thought of change puts us into a mental and emotional tizzy that even has physical manifestations. Just thinking about the change of a routine, or not eating ice
cream, or getting off the couch to go for a walk can feel so uncomfortable that you give up or don’t even try.
No matter how much you may want your goal, you let old thoughts and old emotions get in the way of real change. Thoughts of deprivation, it’s too hard, emotions of anger, fear, and sadness all get in the way of success. Dr. Joe Dispenza tells us that, “If you can’t control your emotional state, you must be addicted to it.”

Radical changes produce radical results. Small changes produce small results. Over the years, I have consistently seen that people who make radical changes have the greatest success and tell me it was easy. They find it easier to just change, and they discover that any desire for the fatty foods that caused them to put on their excess weight very quickly vanishes. Those who make small changes are the least likely to succeed and have the most difficulty.”
