A couple of weeks ago there was an excellent report on plant-based food, your body & the planet. I’ve quoted a small portion of the article in this post.

The report extensively discusses plant-based proteins. I’ve written extensively about protein, so I will leave it to you to read the full article. It’s a good read and I strongly urge you to read it.

Someone the other night told me that being vegan was just too radical and that she could never do it. I smiled and just said that hypnosis makes healthy lifestyle changes easy. And, with that, we let it go and changed the subject.

What I really wanted to talk with her about was the TV commercial I had heard for prescription drug for diabetes. I didn’t think that they would ever get through the important safety information. I actually thought about including the written list this post – but it is really, really long. If you really want to know what can happen if you take this popular diabetes prescription, just Google “Diabetes Medications”. Pick one and read the safety info. To me, taking a drug that can cause a host of illnesses is RADICAL!

The thing is that there is more than 100 years of documented evidence showing that switching to a whole-food plant-based diet can reverse and prevent many disease (including diabetes).

Past studies show this eating pattern may reduce the risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes; promote a slimmer waistline and healthier body weight; provide higher levels of important nutrients, such as magnesium, potassium, iron, folate, and fiber; reduce inflammation and oxidative stress that can promote cell damage (which accelerates aging and can lead to chronic diseases), and promotes a sharper mind with fewer memory problems over time.”
