In the post, Slender For Life™ Cheers On The Cowboy Goes Vegan, I previously featured a segment from the Dr. Oz show, in which he challenged a meat-loving cowboy named Rocco to go vegan, in order to save his life. Here’s what happened to Rocco after 28 days as a vegan — and the awesome accomplishment of losing 30 pounds was just the beginning.
Rocco trained his brain to stop eating meat that was causing his obesity and health problems. I so identify with Rocco saying that he has an eating disorder. For me, food was my drug of choice. In just 28 days of eating vegetables, whole grains and fruit, Rocco lost weight, his waist size went from 49″ to 43″. His glucose went from 172 to 99 and his hemoglobin went from 9 to 7.7. His HDL cholesterol went from the highest risk category of 33 up to 45. Amazing! In just 28 days Rocco went from a diabetic to a new life of health.
