As you probably already know, I am a big advocate of self-hypnosis and really advocate that you learn how to do hypnosis it quickly so that you never have the excuse, “I don’t have time”. You always have time for at least one minute! When you have the time and want to enjoy the relaxing benefits of self-hypnosis for longer, then go for it!

As a hypnotherapist I know that clinical hypnosis is a powerful tool for facilitating change. But, I also know that maintaining that change and building on that change is equally important. Often we learn a skill and  we use it to achieve a level of success. Then we are are comfortable and satisfied, we stop using the skills that allowed us to create success and then wonder why we are in trouble again.

I tell clients that they will use suggestions about changing eating habits for a short period of time and that they will soon discover that self-hypnosis is really about bringing yourself back into your body, about being present and conscious in your body. In other words, it’s not about “I love carrots.” Self-hypnosis is about being mindful. The purpose of Self-hypnosis about being centered and grounded. From this place of mindfulness, you really can take control of the trance that you are in.
