Using self-hypnosis you can work with all parts of you creating mastery in your life and taking back the power that you gave away to food, people, life, events and circumstances. There are two particular tools that I suggest to clients who are wanting to create positive changes in their life when dealing with their inner child or a part of themselves that is feeling out of control. Both of these tools are easy to use for making life altering changes in your life.
1) Mirror: When you are brushing your teeth, shaving, or putting on your makeup, look into your eyes and say “Good morning”, “I love you” or “Have a great day”. Throughout the day when you are in the restroom or pass a mirror, smile or wink at yourself. Thank that little kid part of you for the laugh or assure that fearful part that you can handle the meeting with the boss, it doesn’t have to.
2) Left hand/right hand journaling: If you are right handed, put a pen, pencil, marker or crayon in your right hand and as a very caring, loving, nurturing adult, write to that part of you that is hurting or fearful. Ask it, what does it need? What is it looking for? What does it want? Put the pen, pencil, marker or crayon in your left hand and let that part right back. Don’t worry about spelling, penmanship, grammar or even readability – it’s OK if it’s angry scribbling. Listen to yourself with love, forgiveness, grace and compassion.
