Tomorrow morning, my 2 team mates and I will be riding with about 10,000 other cyclists in the STP – Seattle to Portland bide ride. Most people are riding the 204 miles in two days. My team mates and I are in the group that plan to ride it in one day.

Your activity doesn’t have to be as extreme as riding your bike from Seattle to Portland in one or two days. But if you were to increase your activity level, what joy might you discover for yourself? How might your health improve? How might it help you to lose weight?

Don’t like to exercise? Neither did I when I was obese. And honestly, today, I can’t say that going to the gym to exercise really excites me. But, I do it anyway. (I do enjoy the social time with my gym friends). What really excites me and brings joy to my life is that as a grandfather of five I can jump on my bike and ride 200 miles or last week in the BWCA I was able to hike and paddle a canoe more than 75 miles.
