Mrs. Holmes’ Corn, Okra and Tomatoes

2 – 14 oz cans of tomatoes
10 oz frozen okra
cooked brown rice
1 teaspoon sugar
1 1/2 to 2 cups frozen corn
1 large green pepper, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
salt and pepper to taste

Combine all of the vegetables and spices in a large skillet. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 25 – 30 minutes until the vegetables are tender and done. Stir every 5 minutes to keep vegetables from sticking. Serve over brown rice.
