Pizza Dough

This is the pizza dough recipe that we use with the bread maker.

1 cup (8 ounces) water
1 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
2 tsp. honey
1 ½ (7 ½ ounces) Unbleached all-purpose flour
1 ½ (7 ½ ounces) whole wheat flour
2 tsp. Active dry yeast
Cornmeal, for sprinkling

Put all the dough ingredients, except the cornmeal, in the inner pan in the order listed, or in the reverse order if the manual for your machine specifies dry ingredients first and liquids last. Select Dough setting Or the equivalent setting for your machine. When the machine beeps after 1 hour and 20 minutes, remove the dough. Turn off the machine. Divide the dough in half and form 2 balls. Let the dough rest for 10 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 450°. Lightly grease two 12-inch pizza pans or sprinkle them with cornmeal to prevent the pizza from sticking.

Using both hands, stretch the dough to fit the pans and press it evenly into them. Pinch the dough around the edges to form a rim. Spread the Pizza Sauce, or another sauce of choice, on the dough and add any toppings. Bake for 12 to 14 minutes, until the sauce is bubbling and the dough crust lightly browned.

I top mine with lots of pizza sauce and tons of vegies & pineapple (no cheese). ~ Roger Moore
