Giving thanks

I’ve decided that this entire week will be about giving thanks. Here in the U.S., Thursday is Thanksgiving Day. It is a time when families and friends gather to express our gratitude for the abundance of blessings in our life.

For more than two years now Sunday has been the day that I wrote about the Greatest Expression of You. Giving thanks is an important component to being your Best Self for many reasons.

An analogy that I frequently use to imagine biting into a lemon. Notice the squirt of juice in your mouth, the pulp that you can feel with your tongue and the smell of the lemon. As you do this, you may notice more or less saliva, you may feel tightening in your jaws. Just by thinking about a lemon your body started to react is if you were really eating a lemon.

The same is true with gratitude. If you begin your day by giving thanks for being your Best Self throughout the day, your body will move you in the direction of being your Greatest Expression of You.

I invite you to be especially mindful and give thanks this week for the abundance of goodness in your life.
