When I weighed over 100 pounds more than I do now, food was my drug of choice. Anytime I felt the least bit upset, sad, lonely, stressed … I ate. I especially went for the bakery goods like cinnamon rolls, cookies, bakery breads. I used food to numb out my pain. One of the reasons that I always failed on a diet was my mental and emotional pain. When the going got tough, I turned to food and the diet was over.
