CNN‘s Dr. Sanjay Gupta has an interesting story Woman Goes Raw, Loses More Than Half Herself. Angela Stokes, 30, was miserable, unhealthy, weighed 300 pounds. She began a raw vegan diet after reading a book about its health benefits and lost 160 pounds in two years, improving her emotional, physical health. She now weighs 138 pounds and has written several books on “raw foodism”
Personally, I believe that a raw vegan diet is a great way to go, but I am not convinced that the benefits outweigh the limitations. When it comes to being vegan, I’m pretty disciplined – but I’m not willing to never have cooked food or to limit my options in a restaurant or at someone’s home.
I eat a lot of raw food, but I do enjoy a hot meal. I encourage you to find a balance that works for you. You don’t want to have so many restrictions on your eating that you set yourself up for failure.
