Dustin used to weigh over 500 pounds. But, thanks to Slender For Life™ hypnosis for weight loss Dustin traded his hunger for junk foods like doughnuts, ice cream and potato chips for a wonderful hunger for life.
Dustin was a recluse who was too embarrassed to be seen in public. He could only walk one block and he was shocked at how limited his body was.
Overweight all his life, Dustin had high blood pressure, severe sleep apnea and there were warning signs for type II diabetes.
I first met Dustin online in October 2013. At that time, he weighed more than 500 pounds – too heavy for any of the scales in his community. After losing some weight, he was able to use a hospital scale that registered 487.3 pounds. It was embarrassing for him to have to weigh at the hospital.
A few months into his weight loss journey, Dustin’s weight plateaued. So, he went back and again started listening to my Becoming Slender For Life MP3 downloads and overcame the mental and emotional roadblocks.
He became mindful of his thoughts and emotions and recognized the difference between true physical hunger and emotional hunger. He began to eat mindfully – thoroughly chewing his food, setting his fork down between bites and savoring the taste and texture of each morsel.
As a result, Dustin lost 10 pounds in just one and one-half weeks and continued releasing the excess weight.
Dustin remembers when he weighed over 500 pounds that he would order two steaks and eat them both. He now lives a whole-food plant-based lifestyle. No more bags of potato chips, cookies and no 6-packs of doughnuts.
He started going to the pool and swimming laps and loves how great he now feels moving his body.
By October 31, 2016, he weighed 290 pounds and his blood pressure and blood sugars were healthy and he longer had sleep apnea.
He now goes out in public and dances – no more hermit for him! Dustin is becoming who he’s always wanted to be. He says that “The world is so amazing and I couldn’t be a part of it. I was stuck in a body that wouldn’t move”. But he didn’t give up and he didn’t quit.
Dustin says that Slender For Life™ made him wake up to what life can give him. When I asked Dustin about what he did to replace emotional eating, his response was, “I am hungry for life.” “I’m more hungry for life and for food”. Now, rather than emotionally eating junk food, he enjoys a cup of tea.
Dustin loves sharing his weight loss experience. He describes it as a lifestyle journey of creating long-lasting habits and lifestyle changes. His hope is that his story will inspire and be a trigger for someone else to have that moment when they decide, “I’m going to change my life.”
