I’m frequently posting and talking about the whole food, plant based diet. Some of you have asked, “What is it?” Alona Pulde, MD and Matthew Lederman, MD, from Forks Over Knives write, “It’s a diet based on fruits, vegetables, tubers, whole grains, and legumes; and it excludes or minimizes meat (including chicken and fish), dairy products, and eggs, as well as highly refined foods like bleached flour, refined sugar, and oil.” A whole-food, plant-based lifestyle is centered on the starch-based comfort foods that we grew up on prepared in a healthy way.
