So, what species does adapt well to salt, fat and preservatives? 65% of the U.S. population that is overweight and with all the hypertension, diabetes, cancer, irritable bowel syndrome, fibromyalgia and heart dis-eases, it doesn’t seem to me that we humans have adjusted well either.
I don’t have a problem with the U.S. Federal Government and the U.S. National Park Service protecting wildlife – in fact I applaud it. But, why does our government allow the giants of the food industry to poison our food so that we gain weight, lose hair and become addicted to it?
Did you know that in 1960 a McDonald’s meal averaged 200 calories and today it’s more than 610 calories?
It is easy to play victim to the food we buy – but, each of us has the opportunity to make choices. If we stopped purchasing processed foods filled with salt, fat and preservatives, the food industry would listen. We do have a choice. We don’t have to buy processed foods filled with salt, fat and preservatives!
And, honestly, it really isn’t all that difficult to focus your eating on vegetables, fruits and whole grains. Eating healthy foods can taste exquisite. Eating healthy foods can be complicated gourmet meals and it can be very fast, simple, easy dishes – it’s your choice.
