You don’t have to be sick

Have you ever considered that you don’t have to be sick to get better? A client came in recently for her “mental massage.” I’ve seen her about once every three or four months for several years now. Years ago when I first met her it was for weight loss. She lost almost 60 pounds with my Slender For Life™ weight loss hypnosis program and she has kept it off. Since then, she has chosen to schedule quarterly appointments because she loves her “mental Massage.” She considers it one of the nurturing self-care gifts that she gives to herself. Her sessions with me are as important to her as her mani-pedi and going to her massage therapist.

One of the attributes that I love about this person is that she is always seeking new opportunities for growth and healing. She works out in the gym to be physically stronger. She seeks out new adventures to challenge her body in different ways. It isn’t that she is dissatisfied with who she is. Not at all. She esteems herself highly.

But she has come to understand that with every thought and feeling, she is performing epigenetic engineering on her cells. She understands that by changing her mind she is changing her body and that by changing her body she is changing her mind.

Getting Better

If you were to know this woman, you would know that she is healthy and happy. She is living life abundantly. She is satisfied with who she is. But that doesn’t keep her from getting better. She’s not willing to sit back on her laurels and coast.

She loves my Greatest Expression of You process because she knows that with every thought and feeling she has the opportunity to build a neural network focused on the broadcasting of positive healing and joyful impulses.

I get from many people that creating positive changes in their life means that they are “not OK.” That they are “less than” someone else. So to protect their self-image they resist change. They resist exceeding the success that they have achieved thus far in life.

What I really suspect has happened here is that they’ve reached their upper limit. They can’t conceive life being better, being happier, having more love, more abundance is outside their norm and that is too scary – too unimaginable that they resist going there.

As I see it, if you have a pulse, you still have room for growth. You still have opportunities for learning. There are still issues for you to work with. You still can be a better version of yourself. No matter how wonderful your present may be, your future can even be greater.

Opportunities for learning
