Body and mourning

When you think about it, it only makes sense that there is a link between your body and mourning. People often talk about the heart ache with the loss of a loved one.

When you grieve, you experience increased blood pressure, chest pain, and irregular heartbeat. For some, heart attacks are associated with the stress of grief on the cardiovascular system. The physical symptoms of grief are real.

Over the years I have helped people with hypnosis as they have processed grief and  as they learn to move forward with grief. If you are experiencing grief, give me a call at (760) 219-8079 or send me an email and find out hypnosis can benefit you. We can meet online worldwide or at Palm Desert Hypnosis.

Body and mourning

“No one ever told me that grief felt so like fear.” ~ C.S. Lewis

When Grief Gets Physical

“grief also affects our physical well-being. After a recent loss, a client complained that her entire body felt as though she had been run over by a truck. Most of us who have lost a loved one can relate to her pain. She was surprised to learn that grief and the stress associated with it can have such profound effects on the body. In fact, during the first four to six months after the loss of a loved one, people are more likely to experience some type of physical problem, with men being at greater risk than women.”
